This is a beautiful info diagram of the iphone’s taxonomy. Created by Ben Millen over the course of four weeks.

These are not maps in any conventional sense, but rather diagramatic representations of the interconnected space of technology, capital, instrumental value, exchange value, social and environmental impact that surround the device. The first diagram focuses primarily on the physical device, and the existence of the device as an object in our world. The second examines the placement of the device with respect to the individual and society.

We saw this TED a long time ago. These cookie size blocks are miniture interactive screens that sense one another. Looks like they are going to be on the market soon. Also looks like the product has been redesigned slightly, excited to see these in person.

We have seen a lot of business card designs and among them there have been a lot of what we like to call “design masturbation” (for lack of a better word, or not). Cards that the owner can only carry two of because of the thickness, or cards that are quite obviously from moo (yes it’s cliche now). On a rare occasion we come across a card that really works… so we thought we would share.

This card by Akufen out of Montreal, actually slides out of a sleeve revealing multiple names and contact info of people in the firm. For the sake of the trees I hope they hold onto their people for a period of time – since this looks like a production nightmare. A very cool piece to back up some serious skills though.

TEXT VS. TICKET

Honest Bros. with the help of Denver company ID345 put together a free campaign to remind you of street sweeping dates by text message. Users can log in at Text VS. Ticket and set up multiple days (i.e. first Monday, second Wednesday… etc.) then choose to be reminded the night before or the morning of on a mobile friendly site. Finally, Honest Bros. hit the streets with marketing message printed on magnetic paper to draw attention to the campaign. Denver is the initial city to implement the program but the software is set up to work in multiple cities.

Additionally, companies can sponsor texts on a weekly or monthly basis. Users will receive a text similar to “Please move your car for street sweeping, sponsored by XXX”
